My Music is My Passion


 
         Denise is a versatile mezzosoprano with a wide vocal range from lusty lows to lovely lyrical highs . She is a versatile vocalist singing  music from various genres including Classical, Neoclassical, Contemporary Christian, Jazz and  Musical Theater .

         She has portrayed roles on the opera stage such as the deeply moving Amahl’s Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors and  3rd Lady, Papagena  in Mozarts The  Magic Flute . Denise has enjoyed bringing the fantasy role of Shara the Good Witch of the Elves to life in Eric Von Bleickens original whimsical operetta  How Trick or Treating Came to Be.


 

 

        Denise is known as an accomplished actress and singer in Musical Theater. Highly acclaimed for her moving portrayal of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, The Witch in Into the Woods ,Grace Farrell in  Annie  Nancy in Oliver! Frumah Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes and Lucille in No No Nanette as well as various roles in Godspell  to name a few.

 

     

         She has been seen singing in benefit  concerts for the Boston Cure Project and AIDS Project Worcester as well as various churches and Broadway reviews in Central Mass, Boston and Ogunquit ,Maine . Denise captured the attention of TV reporters with her audition for the Boston PoPs Search in the Spring of 2005.

         Her experience offstage includes artistic interpretation of award winning dance pieces for dance studios, directing and choreographing musical theater and operetta. She loves to share her insight to help performers to be the best they can be both onstage and off.  She also enjoys costume design and creation, as she designs and creates many of the pieces she has performed  in .

 

 

        She sings Contemporary Christian music for radical ministry in churches  touching the hearts of her listeners and  has the ability to reach into a piece of music and create an emotional interpretation all her own with passion and feeling. She is especially drawn to the compositions of composer Rick Vale pieces you will hear her emoting through as in Someday  written through the eyes of the Blessed Mother and Artist of My Soul ,a true reflection of opening our hearts and minds to find our  purpose. Presently, Denise is under the guidance of Jazz vocalist and mentor , Rebecca Parris.

      You will find her at Vantine Studios delving into the jazz world once again .. Looking for the spirituality of music she can share with her listener. You can sense her inspiration in timeless classics such as God Bless the Child accompanied by Peter Vantine on piano
 
 
       She has studied classical music with Internationally acclaimed Baritone Richard Conrad , Steven Morris and  Daniel Pettit .She uses her classical technique singing  Brother , an original recording written by Neoclassical Shred guitarist Dean Cascione. Denise was humbled to write the lyrics to this beautiful piece, a tribute to their brother, Mark who has gone on to eternal life.
